Dear Neil Gaiman,
You’re my favorite author of all time. Whenever I’m down, whenever I need a reason to keep trying, I read a couple of your blog posts and always feel much better. I remember when I read American Gods. I admired your story telling methods. You’re witty and experimental; you write the type of sentences that linger in a reader’s mind. That’s all it took to reel me in, definitely since I was a sophomore drastically in need of a writer role model.
Perhaps what I love most about you is how down-to-earth you are. Out of all the big authors I admire, you’re the only one that I can imagine talking to. I learned so much from you. You taught me that there are little to no limitations; as long as a person works hard and with passion, they can achieve anything.
