As Ben Jonson wrote, Shakespeare “was not of an age, but for all time.” That his sonnets and plays have stretched beyond his generation and still reaches the young and the young at heart only signifies his influence, his almost supernatural talent for evoking passion, longing, desire, rage, all through the simple medium of the written word.
