LitStaff Pick: The Most Memorable Literary Moments of 2012

While it certainly isn’t a good most memorable literary moment, the John Locke Review Scandal really stuck with me. It brought to attention a lot of concerns about Amazon’s algorithms, reviewers, and paying reviewers. When is it okay to pay reviewers and when isn’t it? How many authors have paid reviewers? How many reviewers operate that way?

As a reviewer who reviews books both for free and for payment (promotion plans and paying websites, like Self-Publishing Review), the whole John Locke situation was an important topic for me.
