Our friends at Flavorwire published a pretty cool post on some of the strangest, most bizarre fairy appletale adaptations. These certainly aren’t your granny’s fairy tales; these are out-there literary adaptations of fairy tales (which, let’s be honest, started out pretty strange in the first place) to add to your library. Here are just a few of our favorites. Be sure to check out the full list here.

  1. I have another one to add to the list: “Twisted Fairy Tales” by Maura McHugh, illustrated by Jane Laurie. I got side tracked a bit, but once I’ve finished reading it, I’ll be reviewing it for LitStack!
