Locus Award Winners Announced

by Sharon Browning

The winners of the 2014 Locus Awards were announced on Saturday, June 28, and we at Michael Whelan Way of KingsLitStack are pleased as punch that a number of our reviewed books and features count among the winners!

The Locus Awards have been handed out since 1971 (for the 1970 creative year) and are a fan centered honor, in that they are selected by readers of Locus:  the Magazine of The Science Fiction and Fantasy Field, which has been in publication since 1968 (including now Locus Online).  Locus is considered the premiere publication covering the science fiction and fantasy publishing realm, available to the public, and winning one of the awards is, indeed, a great honor.  In an interesting note, the publishers of the winning works are also given certificates to honor their contribution to the endeavor.  Cake and ice cream for everyone!
