Harry Potter was a series that many readers grew up with and for which its writer, JK Rowling, garnered legions of life-long fans. The Huffington Post published a piece illustrating this devotion, based on an image combining every chapter illustration from the series. These art pieces were created by Mary GrandPre. Once it landed on the Internet, it spread waves of literary nostalgia to Rowling’s still devoted fans. “The experience of reading these books has, for most people, been such an enjoyable and rich experience; people of all ages from all around the world can relate to these stories in some way,” said creator A.J. Cabrera, who started reading the books with his kids as a camp counselor. “Or perhaps it is because the books are just so creative that when we are reminded of what it was to read these chapters, we are reminded of how our imaginations were lit up.”
Reddit user thequesogrande aptly sums up the wealth of positive responses to the image with the following comment:
“I honestly didn’t expect the feels I felt. That’s a defining piece of my childhood right there. So many memories are tied up in those images. Thank you.”
