The Bookseller is reporting that details on the second mystery novel penned by Robert Galbraith silkworm_cover(pseudonym for J.K. Rowling) have been released. The second installment in the Cormoran Strike crime series will concern the murder of a novelist and is titled The Silkworm.

The Silkworm follows private investigator Cormoran Strike as he is called in to investigate the disappearance of novelist Owen Quine. While Mrs Quine thinks her husband has just gone off by himself for a few days, Strike realizes that the writer may be under threat having just completed a manuscript featuring poisonous portraits of almost everyone he knows.

‘When Quine is found brutally murdered under bizarre circumstances, it becomes a race against time to understand the motivation of a ruthless killer, a killer unlike any Strike has encountered before…,’ according to the Galbraith website.

Little, Brown said Rowling’s only appearance to publicize the book would be the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate on 18th July in conversation with Val McDermid.

The book will be released June 24.
