Artist Kevin Huizenga

Due to the wealth of archival and international comics available in the modern era, it’s easy to lose sight that some of the most exciting work in the art form is being done right here and right now. Though I have many contemporary cartoonists and comics writers whose work I admire, there is one artist whose work defies my critical ability to write about it intelligently. This artist is Kevin Huizenga. Mixing a disarmingly simple style with narrative complexity rarely achieved in comics, Huizenga has consistently turned out some of the most interesting and perplexing works of the early 21st century. Interested parties are invited to check out either Curses, a hardcover collection of his work or the Ganges series. You will not be disappointed.
